"In this dark comedy about the ugliness of avarice the stakes rise as everyone’s depravity descends lower and lower. Staged by Jesse Berger with a light touch, this is a period production without fuss, emphasizing its small star turns." - New York Times

The Great Comet of 1812

We are thrilled to have been included in the New York Time's roundup of the Most Galvanizing Moments of 2012! Check out slide No. 4. The Year’s Most Galvanizing Moments for 2012. - New York Times

"This isn’t just theater in the round, it’s theater all around you. Ms. Chavkin stages most of the action on risers lining the walls, but the performers sometimes take to the ground, deftly weaving among the tables." — New York Times

"Space permits no more enthusiasm, except to say that this is a rare and marvelous event: amid the din of New York, an oasis of artful illumination."—Adam Feldman, TimeOut New York

ON A ROLL

Painting drops is an ancient technique passed down through generations. Now,  it is a lost art. We had the rare opportunity to resurrect the skill.

HYBRID HYBRID

Due to Hurricane Sandy, we are out of power. We are last on Con Ed's list because Manhattan and NJ are priorities. With generators sold out I drove a four hour round trip to buy an inverter to power the shop. Lights are on! Let's get to work!!

CNC

In my new neighbors shop using his CNC router. The table top has a 60 hp vacuum. Enough to suck down any material tightly to the table top.
The trailer was backed into the shop with 30 sheets of subfloor. Cutting curves for a curvy stage floor. Birch ply to top it off.

ARTISTIC QUALITY

We're building a set for the new company Blue Fire Productions. It's their first show, and our first in the shop. The set for The Man With America Skin depicts a modern-day apartment built in the early 1900s.

ORGANIZED

Moving into our new shop space is a longtime dream. Having a show under-construction on the first day is a blessing. We really hit the ground running!

Organizing shop tools and building a show at the same time is a real challenge. Our 3500 sq ft space is big, but putting a show together inside can make it feel pretty small. Knowing what box the hammer and nails are in...Start digging.

Today is clean-up day. Lets get these tools to work!
